Many people are not aware that we humans can live just three days without water.  How much water you need all depends on the amount of exercise you get, the temperature of the day and how much you weigh.  Today’s research tells us that more than half of the adults don’t get the amount of water their body needs in a day.  How many times do you wait until you feel thirsty before you find something to drink?

You might think this is our body’s way to telling us to drink more, but any beverage that includes caffeine will work like a diuretic and cause you to loose water instead. The same goes for alcohol, it too is a diuretic. Coffee, sodas and tea will all cause added urination and causes your body to loose water.

When you exercise, you sweat and so you must replace that lost water with more water. When you come down with a cold, your body can be dehydrated quickly and so this is why you are told to drink fluids when you’re sick. Many people will always carry water with them wherever they go and remember that water loss is not replaced with other beverages.
